Just curious if any of you are racing with a 50/36 in front and a 11-25 in back. Specifically, Shimano 105 11-25 since they are taking their time rolling out this ratio to their other groups. But it's okay because I'm cheap anyways.

At the moment i run an 11-23. Here's a comparo between the two cassettes:

11-23 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,23
11-25 11-12-13-14-15-17-19-21-23-25

The 15/17/19 jumps look nasty on the 11-25. Your experiences?

I run a 12-25 on the back, and the jumps aren't bad. Really.

Hm. I'll have to just get an 11-25 and just try it out. I think I need the 11 so I can keep up with the big guys on long descents. I am never using it in crits since I'm not strong enough to get on top of that gear and besides, my grandma can outsprint me.

I run a 12-27 with a 50/36, and I don't find the jumps bad even with that.

Although with SRAM, I'll be running an 11-26

I have cutomized an 11-25 DA cassette and everyone worries about the jump. Its not really a big deal, though frankly, I don't often run the configuration (hilly TT's where I know I will be screaming downhill). I however am running a standard crank 54/39 up front. A 25 on a compact crank sounds great if you like to spin straight up walls!
