Hello Everyone.
I would like to extend my appreciation for the help and information that everyone here has offered since I joined the forum. I read many more posts than I reply to, for educational purposes. Wasn't it Mark Twains who said that, "Nobody ever learned anything while they were talking." (Or typing in the 21st century) I don't really have anyone to discuss my newest hobby with at work, or around the home. I enjoy meeting cyclists on my daily rides. Some are pretty good folks.
It is great seeing my ability to ride increase incrementally. I did step up to a 14-mile daily ride today, I could not tell any difference from the 12-mile rides that I was taking. Oh, and I seem to be missing 10 pounds of fat somewhere, has anyone seen it? :) :) !
I haven't done something, which I enjoyed so much for a long time. I know that I am a hard core roadie on the inside, and I feel it slipping out a little more on a daily basis. People I work with, we are all middle-aged men, are literally amazed at how far " I " ride, they are hard to convince that I am only a beginner. I try to keep that point clear, maybe I can get one or two to try it with me, and see for themselves. My current 3-month goal is to be able to do 20 miles on a daily basis if I want to do it. I won't really press to do this until I weigh about 20 pounds less, or about 200 pounds. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement, and advice, and for making me feel welcome here. - Ted
