I've been looking to get some additional lenses for my Rudy Project Rydons (I love:love: these glasses BTW). I'm looking for something that will be good on those overcast days and in the woods. Since it's hard to determine what will work good from the website ([URL=http://www.rudyprojectusa.com/technology/lenstechnology.htm]) I thought I would get some opinions/thoughts here. The only store anywhere close to me doesn't have any addional lenses for me to try out, so actually seeing them myself is out of the question.
Right now I'm looking at the Raceing Red, Normal Red, Yellow, and orange. What do you all use for these conditions??

I use yellow lenses during winter, dawn and dusk. You will have to change to dark ones during the day otherwise it would be painful to the eyes. Yellow lenses will bring up contrast in poor light.
I have some old Bouch & Lomb Killer Loop glasses with all sorts of lenses. My favorite color is a sort of pink, which looks very similar to the racing red on the Rudy site. I found that the pink color gives excellent contrast in the woods without the added brightness of the yellow lenses. I wear them almost all of the time when riding. I do have a clear set of lenses for when it’s dark or really raining hard.

I generally use my brown (everyday) lens which is polarized and my yellow lens.
I use my yellow lens on overcast days when the trail is in and out of the woods.
If it's bright out, I keep my brown lens in there, or when I come out of the woods, I'm blinded with the yellow!
I've used the clear, but prefer the yellow in low light.
Another benefit, I use the yellow while driving in the rain. You can add about 10 feet of visibility in a heavy downpour!

yellow for any mtb trail - early morning road rides
dark for open bright road riding or mtb on the road
clear for night or dusk or overcast

I like the amber/yellow for everything but the brightest days.

Well it looks like the yellow lenses are pretty popular, although I'm still just a touch hesitant about the 'brightness' factor with them. Anywhoo, I'm thinking I'll probably go with them. Although the reds are still intriguing (sp?). Thanks a ton for the opions!

I have a pair of bolles that are green, and it offers a bit more color definition and contrast then brown, and blocks the glare well also. They are also polarized.
Does anybody know if they make proscription lenses for bike glasses (frames)?
I asked in the LBS the guy just nodded at me. Any sites you know off that can provide such service?

I have A pair of Smith Mainlines... these are great.. I mostly use either the brownish lens, or the pinkish lens... I wanna use the yellow... but it is usually too bright, or not foggy enough to really get into them.. .I mostly use them for road though

I know that oakley makes perscription sunglasses, becuase I have some. You just go to the oakley site, and say dealer search. Go to one, and have your perscription ready, and the store will order them for you. My regular eyedoctors were oakley dealers, so they measured my perscription there. however, your LBS could probably order them for you. they are a bit pricey though. I got the polarized oakley minutes, and they were around $300 us. I wonder if health insurance would pay for them? They are perscription, after all. hmm...phatman is thinking...
