I'm not from that area, but my grandmother lived in Sarasota and I spent a few afternoons watching WTOG just to see this guy:

I remember Ernie Lee. Grew up watching Roy Leep and the fishing show with Capt. Hubbard. Now the spooky guy I remember but his name slips me. I think it was "Shock Theater". On late at night, it was great. I don't know if any stations have a late night horror showing on a regular basis anymore.

Dr. Paul Bearer, he had two shows, "Creature Feature" and I think the other one was "Fright Night." Ran for about 25 years on WTOG.

I used to watch Dr. Paul Bearer on "Creature Feature" on Sat. afternoons all growing up. I also got to meet him in person in the mall once to drop my money in for the Labor Day telethon.

Ernie Lee was my favorite Rock & Roll Star. Just Kidding. A friend of mine worked for a channel 13 in Tampa several years back. Hulk Hogan saw Ernie Lee walking down the hallway of the T.V. station. He ran and bear hugged Ernie and told him, "You helped raise me". Ernie was a special guy.
