It's infectious, I tell you, and you've GIVEN IT TO ME!!!!

I keep finding myself drawn to this forum, and to Machka's site, in particular. I think I'm hooked.

I'm registered for a 120 mile ride this summer, and I think I'm gonna try to get in 200k and 300k brevets this year.

See you all out on the road. :)

Hooooooo haa haa haa haa haa Now you will never go back to your own kind! Soon you will find that 300k is not enough, you will need 400k, and then 600 and 1200! Ha ha ha ha Where will it stop?

I started out with thoughts of suicide, but then I thought: why not just try randonneuring? At least with randonneuring you have some support.

Yesterday we had an afternoon of sunshine, yet temperature 40 degrees F, or less. Happened upon a bench made of recycled material pointed directly at the sun. As I drank my cytomax, the bench warmed my backside while my clothing absorbed heat from the sun. Sitting next to a roaring river. Glad-to-be-alive meter back to normal.

Don't forget the 1000K.

None scheduled that I could do this year even if I wanted. Besides, I have to save SOMETHING for next year, right? :)

I think I'm hooked.

That's how it starts...next you'll be reading every square inch on the history of PBP, then experimenting with how to set up your bike and carry your stuff, learning what to eat after 200 miles that still tastes good, figuring out ways of coping when it gets tough, meeting new rando friends, and, most importantly, eventually passing on your knowledge to the next riders who get "hooked".

Even now, preparing for another season and PBP I keep learning.
