Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What was something you were scared to try, but once you did it, you thought, "That wasn't bad at all"? Perhaps you even enjoyed it.

jsharr just lays there, wimpering and sweating, while Pup's mind was not into it at all, he was more interested in pulling the wings off all the flies that were gathering.

When I first got to Jr high school ,in the 7th grade, this kid picked on me from day one. He made my life miserable. I went out of my way to avoid the halls he was in because I would get punched. Teachers never did anything about it. This was 1980. He was in my science class and I would wait until class was about to start before I went in because if I went in with no teacher there I get harassed. He wasn't that much bigger than me, but he hung out with the burn out crowd and I was afraid what would happen if I hit him back. I was a skinny shy kid back then.
One day towards the end of the year, in science class, the teacher was called out of the room for some reason. He sits in the seat next to me and I hear some of the class starting to laugh because they know whats going to happen. He reaches over and takes my pen to see if I'll do anything. I stood up, punched him in the face and didn't stop punching him until a teacher in the next class pulled me off him. He was crying like a baby all the way down to the office and the whole class saw it. His friends never came after me and he never bothered me again.
That was one thing that I was afraid of, that I truly enjoyed.

I'm very uncomfortable with public speaking. I envision getting frozen up, my mind going blank, and everyone bursting out in laughter. Fortunately, that's never happened.

Diving from the 3-meter board. Was addicted after that first dive.
Diving from the 3-meter board after a really bad dive that knocked the wind out of me as I entered the water. When I did dive again, loved it again.
Bungee jumping in Vegas! Wasn't scary until you got out of the elevator and looked down! DOH!! It certainly didn't look that high from the ground floor!! But I did it and it was pretty fun. That is until I up-chucked in the bathroom. Then I felt even better! hahaha!

I jumped off a 40 foot cliff at Webster's Outlook at Lake Allatoona in Georgia. :D Some other guy there was diving from 50 ft. I did dive from a 20ft height. From that distace if you are not lined up correctly it hurts. :(
After each time you jumped you had to climb up a rock crevice to do it again. I was tiring. There was about a 2 mile hike back to the car when we finished.

Fuddruckers when I was 6. It turned out to be a really good burger place and about a year later I saw Danny Bonaduce there.

The California bar exam. A truly evil three-day test concocted by truly evil minds. I studied my a$$ off for it, but it turned out okay, since I passed, which allowed me to become a lawyer, which I have been for 20 years now and have grown to hate being . . . . well, maybe passing the bar exam doesn't belong in this thread after all. Never mind.

I'm not sure that Danny Bonaduce being in a place is exactly a plus, either for the establishment or for the other unfortunate patrons who had to put up with him.

It was funny because it was right after he beat up a transvestite hooker. I was too young at the time to really understand it though. My parents just said, "I think that's Danny Bonaduce, he was just arrested". They didn't elaborate and it was years later watching VH1 that I put it all together.
