Classic & Vintage - 90's Schwinn Sidewinder - worth $75?

This is a mountain bike but I thought I would ask about it here since it's kind of old - all rigid, cro-moly steel (I think) and by todays standards would probably be considered more of a hybrid since it has a more relaxed geometry and a more upright riding position than most modern mtb's.
My question is this - is $75 too much to pay for this bike? It's for sale at a local thrift store and they aren't willing to budge on the price.
It's in pretty good shape, no rust that I could find, paint is in decent shape, could use a tune up but overall it's in ready to ride condition.

Whether it's worth the money is something you'll have to answer. If you have a use for it, then $75 isn't bad for most any "ready to ride" bike. But as for that specific bike, there's no collectability, nothing special as far as I know about a '90's Schwinn Sidewinder, it's just a matter of how much you want it and will use it. If it were me, I'd look for a better deal on an old mountain bike if that's what you want.........The Sidewinder model name does go back to the very early days of mountain biking, here's an '82: http://www.firstflightbikes.com/1982_sidewinder.htm

I've seen a few Impacts and similarly set up bikes for about 40 bucks. I don't know about 75.

I'm not looking at it as a collectible piece - I just wanted to get an old rigid mtb, thought I'd send it up the bikeforum flagpole to see if anyone would salute it.

I've got one, but I think I only rode it once because I brought it home for parts. oddly enough I'm not using any of the parts anymore so I'm going to put it back together this spring and try to sell it. If you were closer to Detroit I might consider "paying it forward".
$75 is more than I've paid for a used bike (except the Stingray Mini-Twinn I bought years ago) but I've sold a few for more. I think you can do better for $75, but the sidewinder was a fairly solid bike. I'd consider something with alloy wheels though if you care about stopping distance. the Chrome wheels may look nice, but I prefer alloy with rim brakes.

The more I think about it the less inclined I am to buy this bike - I think I'll just keep looking around for something else. I don't really need another bike but I really do want to get an old school mountain bike. I used to have a Raleigh mtb when I was in college and I absolutely loved that bike. For awhile it was my only means of transportation - I used to ride that thing everywhere. Wish I hadn't sold it.
