bacchetta Giro 26 sizing for tall rider

hi, i am going to buy a giro26 and am wondering if any tall guys/girls are riding the medium/normal frame size. I am 6'3.5 with a 46" X-seam. Bacchettas website says i need a large frame buttttt, i rode a medium strada today with the euromesh seat and it seemed to fit perfectly. Are there any drawbacks of riding the smaller frame as a bigger guy? should i get the larger frame (i can't test ride it with out special ordering it)? I figure i will ride the medium Giro26 and if it fits, i will buy it... any advice against this?

You want to avoid messing up the weight distribution on the bike. When I got my highracer Rolf at Volae went over the frame sizes and discussed how that would affect the weight distribution - he was shooting for about 50/50.

If you are way to the back of the seat adjustment you might end up with too much weight on the back wheel which could screw up the handling, but I would ask your Q on the Bacchetta forum - those folks will know for sure - I'm just speculating.

If the dealer sells lots of Bacchettas they will also have a good idea which size is best.

That was sort of my understanding too. If the frame is too small, you'll end up with too much rear weight bias, which means the front end will be too light. I've heard that messes up handing at higher speeds.

I've heard that messes up handing at higher speeds.Although either can be detrimental if taken to extremes, front bias is worse than rear bias on SWBs - handling becomes overly sensitive and the rear brake becomes worthless.

I'm about the same height, and have a large Giro26. You'll probably end up with the seat adjusted as far back as it will go on a smaller frame, which will limit how far you can recline your seat.
