hi all,
i use a topeak mountain morph with a gauge. the thing is great!
however, after using it perhaps ten times, the little flipout footstand broke clean off. not at the hinge but near the base. the plastic didn't snap but sort of ripped. i've only used it on level cement ground in my room. anybody else have this prob? i'm hoping the shop will exchange it although it may be over a month since i bought it and receipt is lost.
also, what's the difference between the road morph and mountain morph? i have the mountain and use it on my road bike.
Yeah, that part broke for me too. It's still attached, but it won't hold for much longer...
I believe the mountain version is built to give more volume per stroke, but with lower pressure.

Contact Topeak with your problem and they will probably send you the parts to fix it for free. They have really good customer service.

i have the same pump and has not done that yet.
it will really stink if it does because it makes pumping a whole lot easier when it comes to the higher pressures

It won't break if you don't use it ;) I never use the foot tab. I just hold the pump against the ground and pump away.
The mountain version usually doesn't have a gauge and it is a larger diameter for more volume and less pressure. From a pratical standpoint, unless you are trying to get to the 160 psi max and are staying in a more reasonable range of around 100 psi, the mountain morph will do the trick. Or, alternatively, the Road Morph will work on mountain bikes. It's all good.
The pressure gauge is important to me. Had no idea the mountain version didn't have it.
Anyway, I don't think Topeak bothers with overseas customers. The cost of sending a tiny piece of plastic across the Atlantic is probably greater than the cost of a new pump. And since it is no longer available, I won't get a new one either...
Can't personally see how the pump can be used without that part, unless you have all the time in the world...

i have notified topeak of the issue and am waiting for reply.
and i actually have a turbo morph, not mountain.
even if i had lots of experience (which i don't), i can't imagine using a pump w/o a gauge. and it's quite a hassle to use a separate gauge, especially since i'm so clumsy w/ them and tend to lose some psi each time.
for maintenance 2-3x pumps, the morph is indeed quite useable w/o the foot tab.
I'm buying a new pump now, and it will be a turbo, since the road is no longer available. Too bad, since the road is a really good pump. But the turbo looks fairly similar, so I think it'll be fine.

Turbo is great, a bit more streamline and lighter. Also I can pump to full pressure with less effort. I bought it (for cheap) after that plastic foot thing broke on my road morph :o

I love my morph . But after a year or two, they seem to loose their zip. Hardly Joe Blaster quality. Seems when the pressure gets over 40 each stroke of the pump gets nowhere. Maybe it's a maintenance Issue I need address. The instruction sheet seemed to indicate nothing need be done. When out on the highway I appreciate a gauge and Joe Blaster type pumps.

The road Morph comes in 2 versions; with a gauge and without. I bought the sin gauge version so the pump was lighter. The gauges are of uncertain reliability, there are lots of reviews on roadbikerevew.com that criticized the gauges. I just use my thumb to estimate the pressure.

I find that my thumb isn't nearly as good as that gauge... :)

Topeak's customer service is just about the best. They will take care of you if you contact them.
Yes, I'm sure they are within the US, but over here in Northern Europe, I don't think so. Besides, I need a new pump for my second bike, so I'll get the turbo anyway. If I like it, I could get a second one to replace my old and dirty road morph.
