"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - I did it...my first race!

I raced in my first road race today. It was a 20 mile race. Things were going well and we were moving at around 22 mph. I made the mistake of attacking too early though. I thought that the pace was slow and I was feeling great so I attacked but never recovered. Everyone else soon passed me as I was recovering.
The way out was fun but we had one of the worst winds coming back in...it was miserable.
Overall though, it was a fun experience. My wife and I are already planning on doing it again next year.

Congratulations, Steve! Sounds like it was fun. They say you never forget your first race. Oh, wait a minute, maybe that's your first girlfriend. Well, anyway, good luck with the next one (why wait a whole year?).

Congrats on your first race, but why wait till next year. The more the marrier, or is that the girl friends thing again????? :rolleyes:

Thanks everyone. She did race too...her goal was just to finish and she did really well. There's another race in July that I'm going to try...I'm not sure if my wife will do it since it's a hard race.

I have my first race.....the MS Grand Prix this following weekend. Can't wait!
