negligent/careless/reckless driving resulting a death -- 3-5 years? how about probation, during which they have to ride bikes? (after the time at the graybar motel, of course).

concealing the damage/evidence? THAT's conspiracy, a felony for sure. 5-10?

restitution is a joke -- how do you price a life? but forfeiture of license and vehicle...absolutely!!

A sad sad tale that is too common. And more often that not, the drivers (offenders) are young(er) people. One mistake on the part of a person behind an automobile causes so much pain for so many people, including the families of the offenders. Don't get me wrong, I don't feel sorry for the people who perpetrate these crimes, especially those who try and conceal them afterwards, but how many times on here have we read that not only the victims have small children, but so do the offenders?
It's just a shame.

Yikes, I wonder if Alcohol was a factor. I mean if they know he was on the shoulder and had lights. It's either reckless driving, DWI, or both. It will be interesting to see what happens to this one.
