Saw one of these on the back of a car yesterday. I didn't know Kawasaki made bicycles.

How about a Panasonic bike? I mean when car and motorcycle companies make bikes it's one thing, but when I saw a Panasonic bike today I was really surprised. How about it? When you buy a TV or a DVD or even a digital camera, you would never think of a bike made by the same company. What’s next? SONY bikes, or do they have those already?
PS. Do Fuji bikes have anything to do with Fuji Film for cameras?

A lot of the Japanese companies seem to be conglomerates. Yamaha makes motorcycles, guitars, organs, car engines, heavy equipment, stereo equipment. Subaru also makes heavy equipment. After WWII enterprising japanese businessmen did what ever they could to make money and companies spread into many fields. Hirohita(I think thats right) Honda started out making piston rings, poorly, but learned and look what he built his company into. Makes me feel kinda like a loser.

I guess the sad thing is, people do buy these things expecting quality, when the bike manufacturer has purchased the license to use that name...

What do you mean another? Has there been any at all? And why do you call motorcyclists idiots?

We have had at-least a dozen or so motorcyclists register on the forum, some to sell there motorbike, others started a dozen topics about motorcycles before figuring out what was going on... :)

hhahaah that's funny. Was that picture of a bicyclist riding a bike on top of the site next to big yellow question mark there back then, when these guys signed up? All it takes to know where you are is a click on any thread here and you'll know (if you can read) if it's a bicycle or a motorcycle forum. I agree, those guys WERE pretty dumb.

I guess Kawasaki ran out of 250cc motors the day that "bike" was made. ;)

I actually thought about that when I posted it. I wondered how many were ready to jump all over it. :D

Just want to make it clear. What I said about Fuji bikes was out of curiosity and in no way intended to show their bad quality in any way.

Yamaha made a "hot rod" back in the early 70's, if I remember correctly so did Kawasaki. Although the Yamaha has more collectors value now. It had a spring fork in the front and dual spring suspension in the rear attached to the rear stays.

BTW, when I said idoit motorcyclist, I meant, a motorcyclist that was an idiot. I was not trying to imply that all motorcyclists were idiots :D. I suppose there was some misreading going on.

And dirtgrinder, I was about to jump all over this thread and poke fun at the starter :D:D

I can't beleive I am telling this on BF but here goes. The last bike I owned before getting into real bikes was a Kawasaki bicycle! I bought two of them at the big WM, one for me and one for my teenage son. They where in the same paint scheme, no suspension at all, steel that weighed about 30lb. I put many miles on mine riding around the small town I lived in and my son was very hard on his and eventually bent the front fork. I'm not realy sure what happened to his but mine continued on untill I remarried, and we moved to a different town. He rode my bike to work at a local hamburger place for 2 years untill he got a car then the bike was cast to the way side. In the mean time I fell by the bike trail side myself. Then I started thinking I realy need to get back on my bike but it had deterorated from lack of attention and being exposed to the weather. I put a new rear derallier on it along with a new chain, stipped all the cables and cleaned and lubed and started riding. I then got a Trek 7200 then a 7500fx and eventually a road bike. I have given the 7200 to my younger son and sold the fx to help pay for the road bike, only to turn around and buy an older Trek 850 to use for commuting and trips around town. I GAVE the old Kawasaki bike to a fella that was working in our enviromental services dept at the time and I think he is still riding it!
The best I can remember it was just another China bike made for dept. store sale, but it sure took a beating and lasted for at least 7 years of use, abuse and neglect!

I couldn't beleave how much lighter the new bikes are, how much better they shift and how smooth they ride compaired to the old dept store bike.
