I'm interested in riding this trail this spring or summer with the wife and kids. Does anyone have information about the camp sites on this trail? There is not much info. on the official websites. I'm thinking of a 50-60 mi. out and back from Parkersburg, WV and staying overnight in one of the primitive site along the trail.

Here's a webpage with mile-by-mile info plus a listing of primitive campsites.

Smithburg is about 50 miles out with campsites and minimal services.
West Union is 2 miles west - to the east, Salem has more services.
Remember that the trail can be rough in places.
It can also be very tough after a rainy period.
50-60 trail miles is a lot for many people - especially young kids.
