Is it? I'm thinking about it, but without being able to freely move the crank back to balance, and having foot stuck to pedal, in a tight situation am i going to go down?

My Presto has a back brake (foot brake) and I use clipless instead of toe clips. The only problem I see is the fact that you accidentally brake more than before. The advantage of using clipless is that you can now brake at any point in the spin.

I use toe clips and a coaster brake with no problems on my single speed. I do have an oh @#&^ brake on the front wheel, but it rarely gets used,
