I'm considering buying a Felt Q720 as a primary mountain bike for some singletrack riding. it appears to have quite a bit of "bang for the buck" as far as components and i really liked my local dealer (feeling comfortable with my local dealer is very important to me!)

here are the specs on the bike- http://www.feltracing.com/products/product.asp?pid=37&catid=18,23,34

I would be running it basically stock except some clipless pedals (shimano 545's i have sitting in my garage).

I have not really heard of Felt before but the bikes look like they have nice pieces.

Anyone here ride a Felt or have anythign to say about this bike/its components?

i have never even had a bike with disc brakes before much less hydraulic, are they harder to work on/maintain?

Thanks,
HandsomeRyan

specs is not bad, make sure you change the shifter to LX or above if you like to shift push-push. Hmm about Felt, soo far Im really interested into their new Virtue Equilink stuffs. Too bad not too many riders own em yet

Not a bad looking ride. Having a good relationship with your LBS is a big plus. They should be able to fill you in on all questions about the brakes. Looks like a decent bike for the price.

erm, looks pretty good. make sure you change shifters to GripShift and also the dérailleurs to SRAM. other members will not like those brakes. while you are on a SRAM shopping spree, switch out the Hays soles to Avid Juicy Ultimates. you'll save weight too.

Felt makes great products. We carry them at the shop I work at and we haven't had any negative feedback from customers who've purchased them.

i bought it. it should be in before next weekend i hope! i'm going to try to ride it as-is for a while (i am adding clipless pedals) I'll post a review after i ride it for a while. i'm just a beginning hobbiest so i dont need the lightest, strongest, best of everything. thanks all for the input.
