I was talking to an aquaintance today (actually he's from Ireland and he speaks with a Brougue accent) and he said he found a new bike, still in it's original carton and plastic packaging. It was out by a dumpster.
He said he was trying to sell it or at least give it away.

I asked him what does the sticker on it say and he said "Redline".

I told him that if it's a Redline, it's probably a four hundred dollar ($400) bike.

Am I right? I recall Redline as being a high-end BMX. I don't think Redline made any cheap bikes.

So this is a question of age/value, I'm not offering this bike for sale, I just want to know if you all agree with me that it's a $400 bike.

All I know is that when I was a teenager, I wanted a Redline but couldn't afford one.

I'd check for similar bikes on Ebay.

Yeah, I get the picture. The name "Redline" was bought out (sold out) a few years ago.
You're right , Mude, there are cheap bikes being sold under the name Redline.

I originally told the guy it's worth $400, but I was thinking of the old redline, which only made quality race bikes.

I honestly haven't seen the bike, all I know is the frame says Redline on it.

I'll have to ask the man if I can see it, next time I see him. He said it was in the box when he found it, and it's still in plastic.

I'm thinking I should ask him if I can see it. If it is a high end model, I might offer him $75 bucks for it.
