Its 30F and I had a wonderful ride!
Sun shining, trails plowed, just a few ice patches, and one and one-half glorious hours of riding.
Anyone else ride today? Supposed to be in the 60's next week. Whooee!

Yes, wife and I just got back from a Saturday ride. We got in 17 hilly miles and a big fat Cheeseburger and fries at the halfway point. I often feel as though I've earned the extra yummy-fattening food after expending some energy:p :p
I was also trying out some homemade panniers that I made out of some army/navy surplus bags. I filled them up with all sorts of clothes and sweatshirts to fill them out to full size. They worked great. I feel good about taking them on my tour of the Oregon coast in September!
Glad you were able to get out and hit the trails. You have certainly been due for some days when you can ride outdoors.

30F is a pretty nice temp for a ride when the sun is shining. Better than 30C imho. It was a touch above freezing here in Toronto today, but much too messy following Thursday's snow/freezing rain.

Alas, I do not get along with cold. First, the "non-allergenic rhinitis" . My nose runs. Like a sieve....
Second, it makes my knees hurt.
Now, some years ago I took my mountain bike out on a sunny 30-degree day, and was soon hiding my coat under a tree. Lots of work, not much wind, and slower speeds make the difference.

So glad you had a glorious 90 minutes under a clear blue sky. Those winter days are great
I have to confess, I read the thread title and thought "30 degrees - me too". Here, it's like mediterranean June - warm but not oppressive, 25 to 30 ....centigrade! The next month is about the best period in the calendar for cyclists and runners, after April it's really baking hot. Now, it's a joy!
A Canadian I was talking to the other day said "Some people get snow-bound, here we get heat bound" - that's right - unless you limit and prepare for your outside exercise, it's a struggle!

It must be a mind set thing, I doubt I would every find 30F a nice temp for riding. After spending a week in Chicago on business last week where the temps were in the 20s on Fri/Sat/Sun it was so nice to get on the bike yesterday and ride in the sun with the temps down here being about 78F. Evertime I head north in the winter it confirms why I live in the south now.
