Finally got my new bike out on the road after waiting a week since I bought it due to rain. I did 60km in 112 minutes so that averages out to just over 30Km/h

How does that stack up for a newbie road riders first go at it?

Legs are sore but I loved it!

Stacks up just fine. But more important is that you loved it. Speed is all relative but enjoyment is where it's at.

30 kph is about 18 mph if I did the conversion right. I would saw your speed is well above average for a newbie bike rider.

Right, that speed for the given distance is very good for a newbie. Keep it up! Let us know how you're doing.

And the conversion 30 x .625 = 18.75mph. That's actually closer to 19mph.

just curious, are you coming from another sport? when I started riding, I had to be careful when starting out becuase I was in good cardiovascular shape (running), but my joints were not accustomed to riding. You did well on this ride, but I would reccomend taking it easy and building up slowly.

Well done! But if you are new at this and are a bit sore now, just wait until tomorrow.
