I have Modolo Professional brakeset on my F.Moser. Naturally the gum rubber anatomical brakehoods have perished and so far I have had no luck finding replacements. I'm guessing because of the age (1988) none are available. Am I correct? Cheers.

They are available, from time to time, on ebay. There are probably also sources for "non Modolo" brake hoods that will fits, such as AME and others....check the web-based bike shop ads.

That site, Bicycle Classics, is out of date. The outfit has changed its name and has a new site. Those listings are several years old. I don't know why it keeps popping up on Google searches, but by now I've gotten used to slapping my forehead when I think I've finally found a NOS something or other and then hit on this site again.

I do believe you are mistaken. The site has been updated within the last two months. I got the Modolo hoods that are being sought by thirteen18 in Aug of last year. It won't hurt to contact Greg and see what is up. Bicycle Classics did change hands, but that was some time ago. Give it a shot.

another place to shoot might be American Cyclery in SF, not so long ago Bradley (owner) had a BOATload of NOS Modolo black levers of the "Speedy" level complete with NOS gumhoods, and he was selling them pretty cheap.
Wait, just checked and he has the hoods alone for $27/pair, not a screamin' deal but a couple bucks off the $29 price elsewhere. look at the fixed gear parts under "misc"
http://www.americancyclery.com/
he might still have some of the lever sets, too, maybe not on the website, couldn't hurt to ask him if any of you want such.

If you are not all that concerned about being 100% original, I have dia-comps on my Modolo Speedy's. You can find those most anywhere in a variety of colors.

maybe you are thinking of the ancient www.bikepro.com site which stopped operating some time ago but still has a ton of info on classic parts you can't buy

Ooops. If so, I apologize. I should have followed my usual practiced and double-checked before I wrote. Bikepro.com is not the site I was thinking of. Maybe I'll go lurk for a while and lick my wounds. :)

Thanks for your guidance guys. Unfortunately AC don't sent international (this is an Aussie enquiry) and Bicycle Classics website have them listed but 'out of stock'. I have emailed them anyway with my help request.

Well that's lame, but you could try Yellow Jersey, they have translations on their website (which BTW looks like it was made by cyber cavemen, it's so...retro) so they might ship to furriners, maybe even Ozzies:
http://www.yellowjersey.org/brax.html
and they seem to have the A'me hoods in the Modolo form, for cheap, and even though they aren't the original gum rubber, these actually wear longer. Hope they have a color you like...

I see the 919 anatomic hoods all the time on ebay, you should be
able to find them there.
