Is using lockout while pedaling possibly dangerous to the frame? On a frame such as a Heckler, with 5 inches of travel, it seems like it would. Any suggestions would be excellent.

It definately puts undo stress on the frame. Is it dangerous I dont know but I would expect on an aluminum frame with that kind of stress it may shorten the life of some sections of the frame. :)

Just think of all the people that put a metal bar in place of their shock for racing or if they needed to send their shock in to get repaired. I would say there is no danger to the frame when the linkage is locked up, but if your doing big drops or something while its locked the pivot locations might wer out more quickly.
