i'm listening to a lot of Willowtip Records releases for the next week. especially ion dissonance and watchmaker.

is the race going to all stay in brooklyn?

this will be my first time working a checkpoint, as i have decided against racing after a full day of work. you're all going to hate me.

it better involve slaying dragons.

i learned you must be careful while choosing checkpoint tasks. mine led to me getting egged and tackled. and then egged more at the finish.

(it was an easter egg race, so there were plenty of eggs laying around)

the bike maps at any lbs should suffice. the only fun part is that you'll have to constantly reference both sides since it only has half of brooklyn on each side. if i told you any more, i might have to kill you.

i think i know which checkpoint you will be at. there will be a best checkpoint prize too....

by the way, SKIDFACE WEEK THREE is happening tonight under the BQE at graham tonight for any of you alls who are down with youtubin' all over yer bikes 'n blowin out yer rear tires before the race.

my goal for the start of the race is to mix up sparks, tomato juice and maybe some blood and chug the hell out of it. i'm tryin' to optimize how many times i can scream "SLAYER!!!" at the top of my lungs before i lose my voice.

yeah. "that guy?" the one who yells slayer a lot? that'll probably be me. lets go hang out in the graveyard.

i was in a terrific mood* - i had hours of hanging out in a park to look forward to! it was definitely cool shooting the breeze w/ you, chris, and max - i'll see you in philly at the end of the summer!

yeah, i have to leave for work soon, totally not looking forward to it. But I am looking forward to Florida.

mattio is by far one of the friendliest people you can meet in new york. he's like a big ball of high fives 'n birthday cakes.

i want to thank everyone who helped me on this race especially nick james, chombo and jill. i couldn't have pulled it off without all your help. i also want to thank my checkpoint people for being awesome and metal. i'm glad there was such a great turn out. i still can't believe most of the racers had no problem cutting themselves. you guys are insane. i'm thinking about doing metal race 2. if i do it, it will probably be next year on june friday the 13th. and if you think cutting yourself is bad, let's just say i've got a year to think of ways to top myself.
