Dear friends:

One of my daughter's friends, a student at Arcadia High School, is raising money for the Race for the Cure Marathon in San Diego. Please see the details below:

Hello Everybody!

It’s really going to happen – I’ve decided to run in San Diego’s Rock n’
Roll Marathon this June. For those of you who don’t know – that’s 26.2 miles
and $2,500 dollars! Right away, some questions which have probably risen in
your mind are – “$2,500 dollars? Where’s that number coming from? Is that
the entrance fee? Is she crazy?!?”

Well, here’s the other half of the story. Not only am I running a marathon,
but I’m also running a marathon as a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society’s (LLS) Team in Training (TNT). As a member of TNT, I have pledged
to raise $2,500 to help assist Leukemia and Lymphoma in its fight against
various types of cancer including: Leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease, Lymphoma,
and Myeloma. Accordingly, in order to raise this sum of money I need your
help!

There are several ways in which you can contribute; the easiest way is
through my website:

Alternatively, you can send me a check and I will forward it to LLS. Please
make it payable to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. If you’d prefer to use
this method, my address is:

[Home address deleted. If you would like to donate, please pm me, and I will give you the address -- Velodrome Phoenix.]

And of course, rowdy cheers, bags of ice, and pounds of dark chocolate are
much needed and ALWAYS appreciated.

Thank you so much for your attention to a cause that has become increasingly
important to me. I will try to keep my website updated so please check it
regularly if you’d like to monitor my progress! In addition, I have added an
attachment to the end of this e-mail to expound on how Leukemia & Lymphoma
utilizes the money that you donate.

Lastly, I am running this marathon in honor of my teammate Virginia Garner
(if you’d like to read her bio check my website)! Thus, if you currently
know of anyone with cancer who would like me to run in honor of their fight
and courage in the face of such tremendous adversity – just let me know.

Thank you, Jessica

P.S. All contributions are 100% tax deductible!

That's Rad! Good luck to her. I finished my fundraising for Solvang, so if I get any stragglers coming in, I'll send em her way.

BUMP!!

My daughter just called me with a desperate plea -- her friend, Jessica, still needs more sponsors for the marathon. Please use this link if you can contribute in any way -- even a $20 donation would help.
