I'm going to see an opus stelle this week and I'm having trouble finding reviews for this bike. Has anyone owned one or ridden one and how did you like it? Is it geared more towards a road bike or a mountain bike? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Being in only its second year of production and by a lesser known company reviews may not be easy to find.
I picked up an Opus Stelle in early Dec. My first foray back into road/cross bikes after too many years on mtn bikes. Amazing handling and quickness. A step above a JTS. I can do 50k on the road one day, switch wheels and go do some logging road touring or easy single track the next. The bike is comfortable in both situations. Can't wait to try it in some of the local cyclocross events in the fall.
The 50t big ring may be too tall for cyclocross racing depending on the course layout. A 42t or 40t single ring set-up seems to be the common race set-up.
One note. The top brake levers are mounted too far out board on the factory bike and cannot be moved farther inboard because of the taper. My LBS swapped out the bars and levers to change this.
Cheers, Trev
