There is a serious creak on my bike, and I think it is coming from the BB. The noise occurs while under heavy power, and while standing to ride. I was out in the rain yesterday, and the noise stopped, but another 30km down the road it was coming back again. Today it is fully there again making a lot of noise.
Any ideas on what it may be, and how to fix it?

Thanks.
If the rain stopped it, most likely is the cups of the BB where they thread into the BB shell.
I've cured this by wrapping the threads in a PTFE tape. Creaks gone.
Check your crank arms, and try tape as Chewa suggested.

How do I get to the cups? I don't know a lot about the BB.........

You need to pull the cranks, requires a special tool, and remove the BB cups with one or more special tools. Might be time for a trip to the bike shop.

There are many sources for noise. See some at Drive Train Creaking (http://www.parktool.com/repair_help/creaking_and_squeaking.shtml)
