Southern California - REMINDER: Day after Saint Patrick's Day Ride and BBQ 3/18

For those of you who have not been paying attention, here are the details. I will keep this post up to date with any changes.

The Event: Day after Saint Patrick's Day Ride and BBQ

Date: March 18th

The Ride: A 37 mile loop starting from my house in La Jolla through Rancho Santa Fe, Encinitas and Del Mar. This is basically the same route as the San Diego Bike Club's casual "C" ride. About 2200 ft elevation according to RouteSlip. Not too long, not too short - just enough to justify an appetite for the BBQ. I have a routeslip in case anyone gets lost, but this will be a no-drop ride.

The BBQ: At my house in La Jolla. I will feed you. Lot's of charred dead animals and other good stuff. You can bring whatever questionable St. Patrick's day beverages you want, or bring food if you prefer. I will not coordinate who brings what because there will be too much food no matter what anyone does. It is a hereditary trait in my family and I have learned not to fight it. :p

Time: I am open to suggestions here since people will be coming from all over. I am thinking 12:00PM for the ride, which should be about three hours and 3:00ish until whenever for the BBQ for those who are not riding and just want to stuff their faces. If anyone has scheduling issues or strong preferences about starting earlier or later, please let me know.

Location: La Jolla. I will PM my address/directions to all the confirmed and "maybe" attendees.

Unfortunately I found out I have to work that Sunday morning (our pharmacy is getting new software). I am trying to get them to change the date. It's going to take a couple of hours,but I don't know if I am going to get there on time. I will let you know as soon as I know something.

The ONLY thing that would prohibit me from coming, Dan, is if I just can't drive back down. Remember, I'm driving down the day before to ride the Jax to Jax. It dawned on me that I would be driving BACK to SD the next day for this ride. I'm not rich, you know (neither in monetary funds nor time!), so I may have to use that day to get some things (like errands, shopping, oh, things-other-than-cycling done!). But I may also come. I'll know the closer I get to the date. :o

I'm not rich, you know (neither in monetary funds nor time!), so I may have to use that day to get some things (like errands, shopping, oh, things-other-than-cycling done!). But I may also come. You are the best...offering to pick me up, do a load of laundry for me, clean my kitchen, run to the store and dry cleaners for me and talk to my relatives and non-cycling friends who've had with my habbit...um...hobby. You're the best, girl! :p :D

But you guys had better drive up here for a ride then very soon! (as in the next Tour de Santa B!) :D

No sir, he'll be driving his kart in.... eh I don't remember the name of the city but Moran Raceway is the name of the track. He hasn't gone alone yet. He likes to have someone other than himself or his other buddy who has a kart because than someone can watch the trailer and misc. items scattered about the pit area. But whoever tags along to play watch dog doesn't pay for food or water or whatever that day.

I'm such a PITA right now. I just feel blah is the problem. Driving down twice this weekend will ensure utter exhaustion! But starting a ride at noon on Sunday and then hanging out after is fine! It will be fun! :D
