How much would driving from LAX to Riverside at 2pm today suck?

could suck a lot. I'm not from that area, but my limited experience on the 91 says to go the long way around and take the 60 across.
It would suck and not in a good way....

It will suck for atleast two hours is my guess. If you leave any later than 2:30 expect the sucking to get wose by a factor of 5.

It could be much worse than 2 hours. I left fountain valley at about 2 pm once, got to the 91 in about 10 minutes, and didn't get to the 15 until about 3:45pm. There was no accident or anything on the 91-- it was just "normal". There aren't even any exits or interchanges really, just some sort of warpage in spacetime.

I have been on the 91 once and contemplated death the entire 3 hours I was on it :)

if you like talking on the phone while driving, the 91 is the place to do it.
But it's the afternoon and he'll use all of his monthly minutes!

you can use a land line on the 91.

Take the 60. Avoid the 10. The wife and I made it from LA City Hall to home (Riverside) in 90 minutes last Friday leaving LA at 5pm. Just check traffic problems before you go. I prefer these sites:

Well this is definitely out then. I was hoping to make it there and back to P.V. in 2 1/2 hours.

DON'T DO IT MANG!
Ok, yeah, everybody else has already said it but i feel it needs to be repeated for emphasis.
Actually, if you can make it to the 710/60 interchange by 2PM you'd have a chance at just bearly missing the eastbound traffic. But if you're leaving at 2PM, you'll be at the interchange around 2:30PM or so and sitting in traffic with me. :(

It wouldn't be bad if you could leave 4 hours early, which was 4 hours and 5 minutes ago...

all freeways coming or going in the general area have a high risk of sucking like a freakin black hole right now.

I think it would be difficult to do a turnaround in 2.5 hours if there were no traffic and no CHP. LAX to Riverside is 75 miles.
We have a friend who flies helicopters -- that's probably the only way to do it!
