Here's an opportunity for you to get something for your older mountain bike stuff.

WTB: inexpensive mountain bike build kit, complete or partial.

Particularly need 26" wheels, crank/bb, front/rear mechs, 1.125" stem/bar, 27.2 post (350mm or longer). Also need rigid fork with at least 8" of steer tube. Uncut even better.

Not looking to spend much $. Something older yet good quality would be fine e.g. 7s LX/DX/XT.

Thanks for any leads.

I can hook you up with a Truvativ Fire XC crank/bb combo, an LX fd, and LX f/r 9 sp shifters... not 100% sure on the bb size, but can find out (parts are at home, I'm away at school)...

Let me know.

I have an extra 26" wheelset, but I'd say it's only in fair condition. Rim brakes only. Bontrager Corvair rims (with asymetric rear), Bontrager 8/9 speed hubs, 28 radial front, 32 3x rear. Obvious wear with a few small nicks and a slight hop in the rear wheel. But the braking surfaces are pretty good. 9-speed LX cassette could be included. It's the kind of thing that's probably worth $50-60 bucks locally...but the additional shipping on top of that would make it a bit questionable.

I have a 'matching' Bontrager stem (~100mm, 25.4, 1.125"), but I don't think I have the bars anymore (went to a shorter stem and riser bar). Have a cheap (Kalloy) 27.2 post...but I think it'll be too short (roadie).

I may also have a crankset and BB for you (but I still need to actually pull them off my bike). These are 175mm LX early generation 9-speed (I think the BB is still square taper). Shoe rub and obvious wear, but functional.

I guess shipping all that together might be worth it? Shoot me a PM.
