This summer I'll be doing a self supported tour across the northern part of America. I did a tour a few years back on some Continental Top Touring 2000's and got a good 3500 miles out of them, but alas it's time to replace them before I head out for another 4000+.
What is every one choice touring tire for a 200 lb rider with a loaded Trek 520?

The Continental Top Touring 2000 are very good touring tires but I think that they are out of production. I am in the market for some as well.
Two tires that I have tried out the past few months:
Vittoria Randaneur 700X28. Seem to be a well-built tire and I have had no flats in 1000 miles. It is hard to locate this tire in the 700X28 size.
Panaracer Pasella TourGuard 700X28: Very light-weight tire and the folding model is easily mounted. I have only 200 miles so far so can't attest to hardiness. The sidewalls seem very thin to me.
If you don,t want to worry about flats, get the Schwalbe Marathon Plus (http://schwalbetires.com/marathon_plus_page), 10000kms / 0 flats, and still got a long way to go.

I like the continental travel contact. I use the 37s on my bike. Also got good luck out of the Huchingson Acrobats also in 37s like you can tell some times I ride a little of the road special when Im looking to place to camp. Nex I guess I will try those wonderfulls:Schwalbe Marathon Surpreme.

Tandem has Shwalbe Marathon Slicks. I love these tires. My tourer has Conti TT2000s which I like a little less than the Schwalbes. I'll never buy another Panaracer Pasela TG. Yeah, they're light, but I and my riding buddy have spent a lot of time on the side of the road with a patch kit with these things.
