I just spent about 2 hrs on the trainer (hate that thing) watching an X-men movie. Not exactly high art, but I did notice that my cadence seemed a little higher and the time seemed to go a little faster. Anybody else lean toward action or other genres for making the time go faster on the trainer?

Personally I don't, but it's a fact that people get more pumped up when they see an action movie. I don't have a trainer, but what really does help is to listen to hardcore rave whenever I get tired. It makes me wanna go and there's a nice beat to keep up with as well. This doesn't mean going crazy and wearing yourself out in 1 minute, but with proper breathing and will ... and the music, it's great! I'd say give it a try!

Yeah, an action film used to help me along, until i got banned from using the trainer indoors. Now i just get comfy on the aerobars, and read a book... in the garage. It has actually made me hate the trainer less, and the time flies by.

I've read that listening to music actually slows you down, since you start paying more attention to the music. But next winter when I get my trainer I'll also sign up for somehting like Net Flix so I have pretty much an unlimited supply of movies to watch while on the trainer.

I bend the rules of certain movie drinking games into interval games. You can kill yourself with Dazed and Confused. Anybody else try this?
Oh and movies that should not be watched while on the trainer, Simon Birch and Death Race 2000.

Yup, I have to have an action movie in order to zone out on the rollers. I even had a hard time with the quiet non-action scenes. Even during Matrix Reloaded. So I moved to ski films -- Warren Miller movies. Now those do the trick!
