Today I went back to my LBS in order to change my faulty tires. As you might know I’ve got 2002 Allez about a month ago and found a few cracks on sidewalls of both tires. Nothing too major, but there is no way I want to take any chances, especially on a road bike. They’ve changed it with no problems, although I got a larger size tire. From 700X23 Specialized PRO (old) to 700X26 Specialized Turbo (new). What are some advantages or disadvantages of a larger size tire? I know that they are lighter then the old ones, and the ride is softer, I have yet to notice any disadvantages (hope there is none). I would also like to hear about your experiences with different sizes.

chuvak,

try this site.. It may shed some light

it discusses about rolling resistance on various tires (BMX, Road, MTB).
