Classic & Vintage - Is this really Campy Record

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm not a Campy expert but Ebay item #320089215293 says Campy Record. I emailed the seller and questioned it and he said the owner says its Nuovo Record. To me it looks like a Victory or Triomphe Group. I thought the Nuovo Crank and rear derailleur were definitly different from whats on this bike?
a Link would make it easier

The description is filled with "fun facts", the market will speak, looks like a drop and run ebay storefront, I am sure the bike will be packed with expert care. Its not Record.
Bad sign when the seller doesn't (claim to) know what he's selling. From his pic it looks like a Triomphe crank to me.

You thought correctly!
Nothing Nuovo or Super about those components.
And it's always funny when the seller can't spell the name with the bike sitting right there! :roflmao:

I see that done all the time, never done it, don't know how, probably easy I'll bet.
Gotta love the Greg Lemond reference, too.
Use the insert link icon on the toolbar - the one next to the font color - copy and paste from the ebay auction address bar.

Thanks, The seller is selling for somebody else, He says he has sold about 20 of his 50 bikes. What had me interested was the location of Melboune FL which is where TSDI was out of.

The RD looks like C-Record to me (I'd have to dig my C-Record RD out of the box in the closet to compare to be sure).

The RD looks like C-Record to me.
It has a stamped shield logo, and is a typical parallogram Campagnolo design, but its not a C Record.
Review the cage form and shape, for one and the flat surface of the top plate of the parallogram, C Record is not flat.
So is there a guide for what type Campagnolo components are? I always try to look for a name but all I find is Campagnolo and no model name. Is there an easy to follow guide on line...some kind of a road map as to what we have?

A few choices, buy some catalog reprints from velo-retro.com. Download catalogs in pdf form from campyonly.com. Campyonly I don't think hase everything, but it will assist. Then you can become Campagnolo confident.

Hence the reason why I wrote "looks like" and said I'd have to compare it to the one I have to be sure.
