It sounds like you want something that'll be versatile for either road or tri use. The two bikes that come immediately to mind for that sort of thing are the Cervelo Soloist Team (http://www.cervelo.com/bikes.aspx?bike=SLT2007) and the Kestrel Talon (http://www.kestrel-usa.com/bikes/talon.php).
