The 19th (almost) annual Dead Dog Classic Memorial Stage race is now open for registration at http://active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1421616 Because of our continued growth and limited parking for the RR (among other reasons) field sizes will be limited this year. So if you want some high altitude racing (all racing above 7200 ft and up to 10800 ft) come to Laramie WY June 23-24 and race! http://deaddogclassic.com

Hmmm, only 146 miles from where I live in Denver to Laramie. Dead Dog website doesn't list group starting times, but does mention "1st road race starts @ 10am". I'll be doing most of my riding in Texas (due to work) so I'm not sure how my lungs will handle 60 racing miles (for Cat 4's) at 7200-10800'. But it sure does look nice:

Great races... a 100% must for anyone in the front range.

Cat 4's are currently scheduled to start the RR at either 10:50 or 11:00. Cat 4's only race 45 miles with 3500 feet of climbing. 2007 Race Bible should be up in a couple of weeks but will have few changes from the 2006 bible that is viewable under the cleverly worded Race Bible tab.

Thanks, we try to make it a bit better each year. If we don't have another forest fire, it will be a very tough race with the Pro 1,2, and the 3's doing 86 miles and 6700 ft of climbing. If we do have another fire, most likely will do the RR that we did in 2006.

I'll second that. This was like my 5th race ever and first stage race and I loved every minute of it. I didn't do it last year due to the fire and being a new 3 and not ready for all that climbing but I'll likely be back as 3 this year.

I haven't finalized my schedule by any means, but I'll probably be doing this race, especially if I sign up with one of the two teams I'm looking at joining. Is this a BAT/BAR event?

Yes it is for Senior and Masters categories. Also part of the Rocky Mountain Cup.

Already quite a few registrations. If you don't want to miss out on your category, don't wait too long to register like Toxanadu did for the San Dimas race. :D

Thought I would bump this back up to the top as we now have about 1/4 of the slots filled with SM35+,4 over half filled and SM35+ along with SM 55+ half filled.

Not really looking for help, either I have it or I don't, just remembered this thread and thought I'd give it a bump.

Forecast for RR - 88 degrees 10% chance of afternoon showers. That is hot for here. Expect the ususal afternoon SW winds and hope they don't blow too hard. Over 400 racers registered so far.
