Some of you might not go over to Road Cycling. If you see this bike on the road it is probably me...say "Howdy" or something. :)

(This is the bike I picked up off of Craigslist, new, in the box. I stripped it and added the following: )

59cm Motobecane
2007 Campy Chorus Ultra Torque Compact 50/34 12-25 cassette
Fulcrum Racing Zero Wheels
Zefiro stem
CarbonLord Aero bars
Time RXS Carbon Ti Pedals
Carbon seat post
Selle Prolink Light Ti saddle

16.5 lbs. as you see it here. I could shave another pound and a half or more with a lighter saddle, full carbon wheels and record gruppo but I wasn't trying to make a weight weenie bike. I wanted something different that I wouldn't see everyday.

First ride will be tomorrow.

That is one nice bike. Ever think about red cable housings? High on the bling factor. Good luck

What about a ride report?

Here is a short ride report from yesterday:
I rode 42 miles with it on Sunday with a group (Brandy's Daylight Saving ride) I've never ridden with before, an unfamiliar route and an unfamiliar shifting gruppo so I was a little distracted trying to keep up and evaluate the bike. Plus, they are all stronger riders than I am. I had a great time, though. :)

The frame seems to soak up the road vibrations with help from the carbon stem and bars very well. The bars are 46cm center to center, I weigh about 190 and didn't detect any flex in them nor the stem at all. It responds quickly and seems to be very stiff, which I like. I did some climbing with the bike and it seems to want to climb as well as my aluminum Leader. After I recover a little this week and with the time change and more daylight, I can ride after work and give it a better test and report.

The Fulcrums are outstanding and STIFF....I am very, very pleased with them....worth every penny.

Campy shifting is fantastic. It didn't take more than 2 minutes for me to like it. With the compact crankset (I have a standard double Ultegra crankset on my Leader), I was using the wrong gears a few times when hitting some climbs, shifted incorrectly several times  and found myself searching for the right gear before I could continue climbing. That blew my legs up a bit each time...with more saddle time and practice, shifting for the correct gear won't be an issue.

Back to the frame and fork: after one ride with many distractions, I'll give more feedback later this week after a few more rides.

Well A.) you got a steal. $800? Are you f'ing kidding me? b.) That bike does not come stock (I don't think) with that config. Wheels and Campy group for starters are different. Still, sweet deal. I'm jealous because I've wanted one of these for a long time. In pearl white I think its one of the prettiest bikes around.
