WINSTED -- Bank robbers, terrorists and prowlers have given ski masks a bad name for years, but one Connecticut man is out to change that.

Kevin Lambert, 31, of Winsted has launched a tongue-in-cheek crusade to raise awareness that not everyone who wears a ski mask is plotting mayhem.

Lambert found out the hard way in 2005 when he walked out of a local package store after buying beer with his brother. Lambert slipped on a ski mask for an impromptu photo and a passerby, fearing the store had been robbed, called police.

Lambert was charged with breach of peace and performed 15 hours of community service, volunteering for a youth soccer team.

Since then, he and friends have been wearing ski masks in public places to dispel the stereotypes. He's even started a website called www.crazyskimask.com, which declares its mission as "Striving to keep America Warm By Combating Ski Mask Discrimination."

"This isn't something I do to go out and scare people," Lambert said.

Look out! Its 10 below 0 and that guy is wearing ski mask.

This reminds me of the light bright scare in Boston a few weeks ago. Boston was shut down by an order of Fry's a cheeseburger and a meatball. look out it has batteries.

Why was he even charged? He did nothing.
