Hey all....on the official PBP page, under the "historic" tab, the results of finishers are listed with official times, and then there are groupings with DNF (did not finish), DNS (did not start) and HD.

What does HD stand for? I don't see a legend/key on the page.

Just curious,

Dan

I checked a couple of the "HD" results on the RUSA web site, and the same riders are listed as BC-Beyond Cutoff. I guess these are riders who completed the 1200 km but did not get to the finish before the 90 hour (or 80/84 hour, depending on their start time) cutoff.

That was going to be my guess, too. Something like "beyond deadline."

My french is pretty rudimentary, but "hors" means beyond (there's the "H"), but I can't find a word for deadline, cutoff, finish, closing time, etc. that starts w/ a "D".

Then again, DNF and DNS are english acronyms, not french.......weird. If that is the definition, good on them to recognize those who slugged it out to the finish even though they knew they weren't going to make the cutoff.

Thanks,

Dan

Sorry for the confusion... HD is a french acronym for "Hors délais". People who are HD finisihed PBP but after the time limit.
