Saturday turned out to be an awesome day. Great weather - much improved over last year's ice, rain, hail and sub 40 temperatures!

It was nice running into a few BF'ers while there...Skandal20...didn't see Vino, but he probably had an a great ride.

What did people think of the course - those who were down there? I'm sure there were more than a few who rode it. :) I enjoyed having the flat section to start off with. The rollers were fairly gentle. I was surprised actually to have as much downhill as there was. Overall it seemed like a nice course. The shorter distance made it a bit challening in that I knew I'd have to push the whole way and it would hurt!

I was on my new TT rig which I have only had for about 4 weeks and ridden maybe about 3. That's not enough time to really adapt and adjust but I thought it would be good to try it out and see what happened. I'm pretty sure I made a good effort since my legs were feeling the burn most of the way, I when I went to hammer the hill at the end, oh man! I tried to sprint right before the finish but I couldn't. I figured that meant I had left everything out on the course which is good.

The whole thing felt strangely satisfying in spite of the pain. It was a good kind of pain though, the kind where you know you worked hard.

Yeah, what a great day to be out on the bike. It was my first time on my new TT rig as well, as if racing wasn't exciting enough already. Anyone else on here do the Cat 4/5 TT? I can't believe the guy who won it. What a monster. He came from 7 spots behind to eventually pass everyone in front of him. I definitely did a double take when he pulled up next to me in the final couple miles. I saw his race number and couldn't believe it!

Was that the dude you were telling me had a bike where the rear brake was on the downtube and the whole frame looked like a knife blade?

Yeah. From behind, it looked like he wasn't even riding anything. Just flying through the air at 25mph, and ever so slowly leaving me in the dust.

sounds like a guy in the 4/5 tt here today.. started many starts back from me on a normal road bike, no aero bars or helmet or anything.. he blew by me when i was 3/4 done with the 10mi course and i could see him pass a few people ahead of me..

^^^^^^^

He was on a new Felt. It's the Shznit, absolutely. Annoying that I have a very nice TT rig (skandal...how'd you like it?) but major TT rig envy over that bike.

I was waiting for our results when I saw skandal heading off to his start...figured he'd take off if he saw some guy chasing after him yelling "BF! BF!"

I'll post a more or less full stage race report in the morning...

Yeah that was it. With an SRM meter and some crazy Bontrager disc wheel, carbon aero bars. That thing was dialed. But anyway, I can't wait until my next TT. I think I'm addicted.

Isn't it weird how that is...addictive in spite of the pain?

Yeah. I've got a TT on Friday down in san dimas, but it's a hill climb. Even better though. More pain in shorter amount of time!
