Well, I already liked it, but I may like it MORE. The weather is looking good enough now that I ditched my Nokians for my regular tires, and all of a sudden I was FAST! Damn, but I didn't expect it to be THAT much easier, but best of all, I was going much faster and having an easier time of it than I was last fall.

This winter biking thing is good training. I can't wait until the snow's all gone and I can take out my LHT again.

Same here. As the snow and ice cleared i moved on to my summer tires. It is much much faster, and i can finally use my front brake!

Yeah, I took mine off yesterday and went for a nice ride above freezing. Gained 2.2 MPH avg speed and 6 RPM avg cadence. Although some of the improvement is also due to ditching the hiking boots too.

What's more amazing, is that over the course of the winter, I made up the initial losses in speed and cadence from when I mounted the Nokians, so these improvements are on pre-winter figures.

Still, I don't think I'll be throwing them on as a training tool...

I took the Klondikes off last week, but this morning I just plain left the winter bike at home and put the Bianchi back on commuting duty. Sure is nice to be gliding to work again on a nice, light xcross bike rather than on a plodding hybrid. :)

I'm actually hoping for another ice storm, as the few rides on my Nokian 294's were a blast and I'd like a couple more, it was so much fun. But motorcycling weather is here this week!:)

I really enjoyed winter cycling and hope we get another storm or two -- likely where I live -- but can't wait to get in a long one outdoors on my roadie tires this weekend!
