Saturday I order a set of Shimano Sora ST33-4 Shifters at $98.00. I know that's the lowest price I could find them new. So I then made the order and on sunday I see they took two payment of $107.99. When they should have only taken one payment of $107.99. Shipping is $9.99 Fed-X.

So then I called them today after they are open at 9:00 am their time. They still only have a recording saying the time the showroom is open. So I wait a hour and try again, Still a recording. I sent the e-mails. No answer. I then call and email them all day. Oh and they keep sending me e-mail saying that I need to pay for the shifters again. But thay have already taken two payments from my CC for them all ready.

So DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM EBIKESTOP.COM, AND YOU'LL BE A LOT BETTER OFF.

I hope you've contested your credit card charges and have cancelled the order.:)

I've placed three orders with ebikestop so far this year, paying by debit card, with no troubles whatsoever. My card was charged the day after I ordered, and all items shipped as promised the day after that.

I even bought a set of ST-R500 levers to replace the ST-3304s that I didn't care for on a project bike I recently bought.

Are you sure they actually charged the card and you're not seeing multiple instances of authorization? I've had that happen a few times over the years (with other vendors.) It's heartstopping because I only use debit cards, so it represents actual money. It's always worked out just fine all by itself though.

Anything you see on your credit account online on a Sunday needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Typically, when you charge over the phone or internet, a "hold" in the amount of the charge is posted immediately to your account, and the merchant actually gets a credit for the purchase price a day or so later. If you happen to check at a time when the "hold" has not taken off, the account will look like you got charged twice. I have no experience with this merchant, but right now it seems to me like the OP is blaming them for something that is just an annoying glitch in the banking system. I wouldn't get juices flowing unless the "double" charge still appears on Monday night.

I bought stuff from them over eBay about 2 months ago -- forget exactly what...disc brake or cables and housing -- and had no problems at all.

I got a e-mail form them saying that both the chagers where Pre-authorization. Why in the world would they run two PA's and not just due one and then chagre the amount. Don't sound right to me. But He said they should be back on the card in 72 hours. So Yes I jumped the gun a little on this one. But still not right taking two PA's? And why on a order with a CC would a PA be needed. IF the money is there then it would go and if not it would not. So why a PA's? at my job we do pa's just to see if the card is active.

Some credit card processors always preauthorize, then make a separate transaction to settle. This produces two separate transactions, although money only changes hands on the second.

I just received an order from them today. I ordered a pump and the Park TL-10 tire lever "shop" tool. They sent me the correct pump along with the TL-1 plastic 3some of portable levers. I'm sure some will want to play devil's advocate and say "well its only a digit away from being correct." OK, but there's a price difference of $20 and when you look at the invoice that the packer has to initial off next to each item...yeah. I guess I know which shop to avoid when in CO Springs.

You need to educate yourself a bit more on how the systems work.
