Northeast - Portland Maine Vintage Riders Unite

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I Would Like To Unite Any Riders Out There In The Portland Area (or Further If You Don't Mind Driving To Ride) Who May Want To Start Riding Here And There As A Group, Maybe Punctuated By A Picnic Or Microbrewer(y)(ies). I Would Like To Do A Vintage Thing, But Anyone Interested Could Tag Along. I Know Vintage Can Mean Many Things To Many People. For Instance I'll Be On A 1978 Custom 531 Touring Bike, Mafac, 600 Arab, Campy, Superbe. Another Time I May Cruise On An Early 90s Flashy Kona. Maybe Do Two Start Times So The Manic Types And Crankers Can Blow Off Some Steam? Just An Idea, Open To Feedback
I'd be interested in tagging along. Closest I can come to "vintage" is a '94(ish) diamondback with one wheel, no pedals and everything else in a box or missing. It was my son's and I've inherited it to try and build a commuter.
Anyway, I'm up for it.

Sounds like a good time. I'd be interested in driving down if it happens. I'd probably be toting a 60's Schwinn, or a 70's Hawthorne 3 speed. Neither are anything special. Mostly just old.
Well, my bike ain't vintage but I am. That
ought to count for something...
Sounds like there is some interest. We'll probably ride out of Percy Cycles on Congress/Deering before the shop opens at 10 starting in May.

gng207, you might want to cross post this in the Classic & Vintage area if you haven't already, I didn't see it over there.

Not much parking, and I don't like the area. Why not the big parking lot on Back Bay across the street from Hannafords? The boulevard is perfect for warming up,
nobody gets towed or broken into, and you got snacks across the street.
Baxter Boulevard (aka Back Bay) sounds good. Thanks for the suggestion.
