Get this....could hit 67 degrees today. Of course the wind is gusting to 25 mph+....a high of only 37 by the end of the week.

The month of March is a teaser, but heck, I'll take today.

Waiting for it to warm up a bit before I head out on a last ride of the week.
Could be worse, I see from my training log last year at this time we were getting snow now.

maybe i have just decided to be more dedicated to my work. maybe they (evil corporate America) deserve the best of me. maybe.......forget it.

for some dumb reason i am doing a half marathon this weekend. this is the take it easy week. i can't remember the last time i got on my bike and actually took it easy? so, i must resist the force. i must fight the urge. i must remember that there will be plenty of other days where I will be; "I think I'll leave early and catch a ride" guy???!!!

until then, i will continue to endlessly participate in the forums of the net. later.

You beat me to the punch on that "I am leaving early to ride" line from last fall.
I am still running because I know once I get into bike mode, the running will be cut way back.
Have a nice run. The half is a good distance, long enough to make you know it is long distance but it goes by quick.

I am so envious as I look outside at all the melting snow. It is 52 right now and I would love to ride but we get so much snow and the city uses a dirt/salt mixture for the roads. Our shoulders are just coming in to view and they are like dirt or mud roads to say the least. This is the one time of year I hope and prey for rain. So you guys and gals go ahead and ride but you don't have to talk about it:)

Running? RUNNING???

Out damned spot!! OUT!!!!

Oh yeah, I'd be riding today, but I haven't come up with the ransom money to free my bike from the evildoers who apparently hate America. Psimet, why do you hate America so?

Too much work kept me in the office yesterday and today. But tomorrow and Thursday? Outdoors all the way -- going to visit some "clients." Yeah, the "clients" being my bike, but my employer knows that by now and just smiles. Don't care if it's only 37 -- where I'm at, that'd be a heat wave compared to recent weeks.

Hope everyone has a good ride!

Then you shouldn't ever visit the SoCal subforum. ;) Talk about region envy. They've got nice weather all year round. Except for the mudslides, the forest fires, and the smog. Other than that, SoCal is the place to be.

My spin class instructor just got back from a trip to California so we had to do 3 long climbs today just because he was in "Mountain Mode" He better be back to normal next week!!!

I can feel the pain my instructor is going to colorado this summer. We all have been traing for it this winter. To bad we all can't do the trip:D

I caught a look at part of the Oak Leaf Trail in Tosa on my way home last night. Still looked slushy with some massive puddles. Any other reports from Milwaukee County out there?

Yeah, I made the mistake of trying it today, only to turn around in the slush and ice to walk my walk back to the road where I continued on my detour route. That darned storm last time around....it takes forever to melt that much snow when they don't plow the MUP.

Hip, you are back already? Where's the ride report for us still stuck with our faces against the office window?? Later.

Hip, it was 55 degrees on my drive into work this morning. You have a chance to ride before the temps nosedive this afternoon, you know....

Get out there and ride for those of us who are stuck at work and/or are waiting for our mechanics to put the cables back on the bike....

Oak Leaf Trail may still be messy but Canal Street to Lincoln Memorial north to WFB and back was smooth, clean, dry and a whole lot of fun Sunday afternoon.

Yeah, I guess they plow up in your neck of the woods....not by me.

"Not by me?"

Geez, that was a Milwaukee-ism.....now where's the bubbler?

Oh, and CyLowe....had to use the mild morning to clean up the front yard as my project of the day...much snow mold on the grass....tons of branches....lots of raking to do before the weather goes back into the crapper....so I worked the upper body today....yeah, that's it.

Klein's gotta go to the shop now anyway to get that excess top tube trimmed up now that I'm keeping the new stem.

Northern Illinois set a record yesterday at 73 degrees. I did Rock Cut State Park north of Rockford IL yesterday. They plowed the trail and they were clear and dry. If you do the roadway loop around the park along with the paved trail this is over 20 miles. I had tried the Long Prairie trail in northern Boone county first and it was ice covered and dog crap everywhere.
