Just wondering how many recumbent riders are planning to attend the SOC?
Our local 'bent club is planning our monthly 2nd Saturday ride to head out there. Any out-of-area 'bent riders care to join us? Reply to this thread, or PM me, or email me at

Would like to make a good showing of recumbents this year, so come join us!

I sure would like to see what Lance could do to the "Tour" riding a Gold Rush!

:D

WOW!
That many huh?!?

I guess it IS a DF event, so who would want to be laughed at that much anyway? :p

I just saw an advertisement for the SOC on the weird side of the Monterey Bay- Santa Cruz :D It showed nothing but muddy MTBs in a hilly mud track. I thought it was all hunched over 10 speeds with the advertisement flaunting "ALL TYPES WELCOME" to keep sponsers happy. Rather odd impressions- I can see it now- I would go over 1 mudpile on my 4" high bent, bottom out and get rear-ended...

Unless I was in front of you! ;)
My GTX has less than 3" clearance.

The club will be doing a Saturday road ride if you'd care to join us!!
The more the merrier!

And who knows, if there are lots of us 'bent riders, we might get some media coverage.

Email me if interested;.. mb@mbent.net

I suppose the off-road stuff is the main event, but this seems to be turning into a bicycle festival, with recumbents conspicious by their absence. Here is a link to the road ride:

EXACTLY!!!
So come on down, up, over and let's make recumbents CONSPICUOUS!! :D

I mean, what's a "bike" festival without some recumbents in the mix?!?

And if your are new to recumbents, this would be a good chance to see a wide variety of bent bikes & trikes! And you can meet the recumbent cyclist featured in the San Francisco "Green this City" campaign!

(umm, that would be ME!)
:D

I try to do many of the events near my home range, but California is a bit too far!
