I just realized this ride conflicts with SombraGatos "Headwinds & Tailwinds" ride out on the plains. Sorry, Gato. I'll check the Hypoxia page before I post a ride next time.
-----

WHEN: 11:00AM start.
WHERE: Prospect Park on West 44th. (west of Kipling Street)
RIDE:

We will ride from Prospect Park in Wheat Ridge and ride the Lariat Loop. Thanks to Sunshine1 for the route!

WHO: EVERYONE! We'll break into 2 groups as warranted. Nobody will have to ride alone.

GROUP 1: I call this group the "DeadGatos." Those who can keep up with SombraGato & Deadhead are free to take off and ride their own pace. Drop'em if you can!

GROUP 2: I call this group the "SaneOnes." Those of US who are riding to get better at climbing. A NO-DROP rule will apply with frequent stops as needed by the group.

Those of you who wish, are invited to join me for coffee, tea, or ice water at my place at 9:00AM.
PM me if you'd like to come by for coffee prior to the ride. We can ride to the meeting point which is only 1/2 mile away.

Just a silly question, but why would anyone ride 40N between Morrison and the parking lots (tight two laner with a ton of fast moving traffic while you are climbing) instead of going down to the C470 frontage road (No traffic, wide open road)? I know there is a difference between riding in a great canyon and riding along a freeway, but its such a more relaxing way to cover that span.

Now, 40S when you are flying at close to the car speed I can understand, its fast and fun, but coming up from Morrison, no thank you.

I'm making the gross assumption that you are going up Lookup at the beginning, which would be the only sane way to ride this route, but one nenver knows.

I digress, its a great route, have a great time, the ride down from Evergreen is soo nice.

I've never had any problems on that stretch of road. Ridden it several times. Then again, I'm used to cars, considering the number of miles I put in every week throughout the city. :)

I'll be there, Zin! :) Was gonna do Headwinds and Tailwinds, but looks like they canceled that one. But... 30 miles? Well, I guess the ride from my place up to the start and back home afterwards will help to make up some miles. :) :) :)

bmc - Great to hear you'll be with me. Yeah, the headwinds ride is cancelled. Party due to my poor timing of this ride. I didn't check the Hypoxia ride schedule prior to setting this ride up. :(

Snowy - Me too! Soon I hope. :) I'll PM you with me cell number.

I'll be riding my Bianchi San Remo touring bike this weekend, so speed will not be the order of the day. lol

Someone gave me a good tip the other day...

You'll be ok as long as you keep the rubber side down. :)

Oh, and my grandpa's famous words of wisdom:
"If it hurts, don't do it!"

See ya next time.
