I am still waiting on a yay or nay from the colleges I have applied to. When I applied, I felt I was strong in every department except for my grades, with a modest 3.0gpa this year. But, the only thing they saw was quarter 1 and half of quarter 2 grades to get that gpa. Well we got progress reports today, and my gpa was a 3.4. I think this is better. Is it unusual to send in recent grade reports for colleges, to hopefully go in your favor?

Unusual? I don't know. Should you do it? It certainly isn't going to hurt anything.

I have no idea how unusual it is and that probably doesn't matter. The real issue is whether or not they would bother to look at the updated grades if your application is already being processed.

I suggest you call the admissions office(s) where you've applied and ask them if they will consider your newer grades.
