General Cycling Discussion - member status

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm pretty new to this forum and as I've been trying out things I've come across various members profiles and they is a status designation, newbie, junior member, and senior member are what I've seen. I see some senior members who've registered in the past 3 weeks. What constitutes one's member status? Not that it really matters I'm just curious.

100 posts and 30 days (I think) of registration makes you a senior member

100 posts in one day gives you the title "Too Much Time On Hands".

I'm on the installment plan. Every month I send each moderator $50 and from what I understand in 3 years I'll have senior status....unfortunately my payments always seem to get lost in the mail.

Look to the left of your posts. You'll see your name. Directly below it is your status.
You start as a newbie - become a junior member - then member - then senior member.
At some point - (and I'm sure someone will chime in with the exact details) you are able to put whatever you want as your status. IE: I have 'Marathon Cyclist'.
Hope that helps.

I think that comes after 100 posts.

Upper right corner of your screen: "Your control panel" - click it.
Next, click "Edit Profile", then scroll down the list until you find "Custom User Text". It shows your current title and a field for new title. Type in new title, scroll down to click "Submit modifications" -button and joulé! you have a new status.

Oh yeah, you also have to be here for 30 days before that kicks in. You've still got a couple of days to go.
Keep posting... you'll get there.
Seems like only yesterday I was at 100 posts. Dang, time passes so fast!

Well I'm a junior member now - guess it was length of time I've been enrolled because I've just recently made a few postings.

Well I've been around since June 2001 but haven't hit 100 posts yet. I'm just a shy one. If only people who knew me could see this. I've been called a 0 - 40 second b$tch so maybe it's good that I stay silent.
