I have noticed since I installed my new Reynolds Alta Aero Comp's that under braking whether on the flats or down hill the front wheel vibrates/chatters. I have no issues pedaling or coasting. The wheel is true, spins free and doesn't rub the brakes at all. The braking surface of the wheel is clean on both sides, the pads are clean. When I switch back to my Bontrager Selects I don't have this problem. I don't have this issue with the rear brakes at all.

I've searched and have only found people discussing wheel wobble/vibration while going downhill, but no mention of brakes being the issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Check to see if the wheel is balanced.

How would I do that?

The quickest way to eliminate chatter is a new set of brake pads, since the set on your bike has mated with your old wheel. Eventually they will wear down and mate with the new wheel ,this may take some time. You can also toe in your pads, if your calipers have this adjustment, this helps to modulate braking and should reduce the brake chatter.

spin it slowly and see if it always settles in one spot. Off the bike.
