I MIGHT do it. I told myself I wouldn't this year but one of my girly friends might do and she wants me to join her :)

it was a good ride, except I got to to the aid station on Rollercoaster Rd before they had the water turned on. Oh, and Rollercoaster Rd is no fun. --A "Challenge" they say. It's definitely best to get out early before the wind picks up in the afternoon; the last 20mi or so are all into the wind and uphill....

You guys have got to tell yourselves that Rollercoaster Road is fun! It's a self-fulfilling prophecy! Besides, pain is just weakness leaving the body!

Rollercoaster Road is fun -going downhill, especially after climing up Gleneagle Dr and Baptist Road from the Air Force Academy. Maybe I'll give it a try before going up it during the century this year.

I am not. I did it several years back, and had a bad experience - a lady bicyclist was killed, the parking was attrocious and I got lost, believe it or not - well, actually I was following a guy who wasn't going to finish (but I didn't know that), and HE took a different route. But, I did avoid where the lady was killed, as I would have been cycling there at the exact moment everything went down. I ended up in Larkspur, from whence I called my wife for a pickup.

Too many people mixed with too many cars for me.

A Boulder bicyclist died Monday at Swedish Medical Center from injuries she

Randi Eyre, 46, was riding on Perry Park Road near Larkspur when she hit a
pothole in the road and fell off her bicycle, hitting her head, said Sheriff's
Sgt. Atilla Denes. *She was wearing a helmet, but sustained serious head
injuries, Denes said.

And a response (not from me):

I am *REALLY* not sure why I am replying to this, but as I read through
JPoulson's little flame war attempt, I saw a lot of people not knowing
the "real" story as I saw it. *I was there, about 2 bikes in front of
the crash. *I am going to tell you what I know. *Maybe, the person I
will refer to in this post will read it, and possibley email me, as I
know he has to be feeling pretty rough right now.
We were coming north on Hwy 105 between Monument and Castle Rock. *It
was a HUGE ride (Elephant Rock). *As a racer, I had been passing people
all day. *I wasn't really racing, but just riding a faster pace. *The
trip home on 105 is mostly down hill, rolling, but mostly down hill. *
I was rolling along, enjoying the trip when I saw a few people jump to
get on my wheel. *This didn't bother me, as a matter of fact, I was
looking forward to the company. *

I soft pedalled a bit at waht I guestimate to be 35+ mph. *I don't think
I was in *to the 40's at that point. *As the riders approached me from
behind, I heard a rider say "OH ****, Randi, I am sorry, I am sorry" and
then I heard the impact. *I looked under my arm and saw "Randi" sliding
down the road on her head and shoulder. *

I slowed and rolled back up the hill, I was sure she had broken her
colarbone based on how she was laying. *As I rolled up, I realized there
was a good deal of blood on the road and her eyes were turned back into
her head. *Her friends and other were "attending" to her. *I rolled back
up the hill even farther and tried to direct traffic around the incident.
More people stopped, and more people called on cell phones. *As more and
people stopped, I realized nobody had and address where we were, so
I decided to roll down and take and address off house. *I rolled back
up to the accident ad gve the info to a guy on a cell phone. *He relayed
it onto 911.

From there, Randi was heli-vac'ed out and died the next day. *I don't
know many of those details as I finished the ride. *She was wearing
a helmet, and I did not see exactly what happened. *Newspapers have
claimed pot-holes, I don't recall any bumps there.

It is terribly sad, and as a 20+ year cyclist, it is hard to deal with.
