General Cycling Discussion - I Hate Choosing!!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

When I first got a road bike, it was for $750 from my boss. He basically pulled one off the wall and said "this bike will suit you"
Now that I am fully into road riding, it's not going to be that simple! So far I have found::http://www.vectorstar.net/~porsche/Files/new%20bikes.doc
But it keeps growing as I search through LBS web sites.
Basically I am going by this Criteria:
Must be under $3,000 NZD
Must have carbon forks
Must have full Shimano 105
Must be a Double Chainring setup
Must be available in my size (approx 58cm)
Must have replaceable Deraileur hanger.
Comments are welcome!

Hi NZLCyclist
Have you considered an Avanti bike?
Or a Raceline?
They're both local (to NZ and Aus), well equipped and well priced.

For under the 3K mark there is a Raceline Pave, but has alot of mixed components and none of the carbon stuff etc.
I have been in contact with someone that knows what they are talking about and they reckon keep away from Avanti and Wheeler....dunno why but I don't like the looks of the bikes anyway.

I didn't think Avanti were all that bad considering the triathletes using them.
What's NZ$3000 worth in Aussie dollars?
I was looking for a 105 bike several months ago and tried out quite a few ..
don't know whether they fit the price you're after though ..

3000NZD = 2,652.64 AUD
1,743.52 USD
1,491.24 EUR
ask for any others.
The local Avanti dealers are a bunch of Dumasses anyway......stuff em

Damn, you guys get screwed over on price!
As for the Felt why not talk to a LBS that carries it, I'm sure they would swap out the tripple for a double drivetrain.

we sure do George....... its called being in the bottom corner of the world. I was thinking of asking the bike store if I could do a swap. The Fuji is also a Triple.

I don't see how this is helping. Your title is, "I Hate Choosing," and now you have been given more choices. . . LOL! I say close your eyes and throw a dart at your list :)
