Check out the these web sites...
Mike Coalition of Maine Web Site (http://www.bikemaine.org)
http://www.mtanemba.org/
The Eastern Trail (http://www.easterntrail.org/)
This is a big state. We got lots of trails and a fair number of mountains.
But if you are in one corner, talking about some place 200 miles away
isn't helpful.
It also depends on the type of biking you do. But we have a few ski places for the Dh crowd, and trails for the cross country guys, etc.
We have a lot of hiking, if you're here you ought to try it.
I loved hiking.

Thanks you two, I was thinking about around the Augusta Area. I am use to lots of single track and climbs w/lots of rocks and technical stuff. Would you say there is trail similar to that or mostly fire road riding?
Call or email BCM, they are right in Augusta and can tell you. Why Augusta?

Powerhouse here. The Bicycle Coalition of Maine can provide you with the information you want. There are maps of all the trails that they can send you, perhaps for a small price. Contact the Bicycle Coalition of Maine at www.BikeMaine.org

There are some decent trails around here, I live very near Augusta. The Bike Coalition website doesn't list many offroad trails near here, but there are a bunch around. The old standby is trails in the power lines. Every power line has a trail and some of them can be extremely technical. There are lots of trails that you simply have to have someone show you to know they are there. Also, there are lots of snowmobile trails and atv trails that aren't really listed anywhere but make great riding, if you get to know the area you'll find them. Most of the trails in Maine are on private property but people are generally welcome to use them. There are also two LBSs nearby that have group rides, and several more within a little bit of a drive. In Augusta you are well connected to get to a lot of different places to ride within a half hour drive.
