Hi me and my friend wanna go on a bike tour this summer. I am trying to find a bike that i can use that wont be too expensive. I see that tour bikes starat at 1200 pretty much. and i dont have much more then 7. So i am trying to see what is a good bike that can be used for touring. I was really looking at the specialized sequoia for 700. Any info would be great. thanks.

Jamis Aurora. A steel touring bike. $850.. so that's closer to $700. I'm not sure of the price on a Fuji Touring, but I'm sure it's under $1000. And probably the best deal right now... Novara Randonee at REI. If you become a member ($15) you can get 20 percent off any one item until the end of March. The Randonee is $949 less 20 percent ($190) = $759 - so that's a pretty good deal for a true touring frame that even comes with a rack.

check it out... take one for a ride. I think most people that know about bikes will agree that this is about as good as it gets for $759... unless you just find an unbelievable deal on a used bike.
Windsor touring bike from bikesdirect.com for $600.00.
